Petals in the Concrete

Humans are single beings composed of two selves—the light and the dark, the free and the trapped, petal and concrete. The Rochester Adult Ballet Company presents a modern ballet telling the story of how these contrasting feelings cannot exist alone. Just as one must know pain to understand love, we must collapse like concrete in order to feel the lightness of petal. When concrete fractures under the weight of the world, petal's brightness is there to light the way back to balance.
