This exciting Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra concert features four living composers. Mason Bates’ Mothership is an energetic piece that imagines the orchestra as a mothership, “docked” by visiting soloists. Einstein’s Dream by Cindy McTee reads like a diary, recording the dreams of Einstein as he worked on his theory of relativity. Reich’s Three Movement for Orchestra will engage audiences with its unexpected layout. This RPO program concludes with world-renowned violinist Leila Josefowicz in Adams’ Scheherazade.2, a piece written for her.
