The Woman King

Loosely based on history, “The Woman King” tells of the all-female African warrior regiment, the Agojie. Oscar winner Viola Davis inhabits the role of the fierce General Nanisca, who leads the regiment. The film was a passion project for Davis, who worked for years to bring it to the screen.
