The Picture of Oscar Wilde

The Picture of Oscar Wilde

On the night before his final trial for gross indecency, Oscar Wilde had an unexpected visitor: Henri de Toulouse Lautrec. The only surviving artifact of that little-known reunion is an unflattering portrait of the defamed writer. Based on true events, we explore the final hours before Wilde’s incarceration; the relationship with his wife Constance; his lover, Lord Alfred “Bosie” Douglas; and an unexpected friendship with the notorious artist of the Moulin Rouge, Toulouse Lautrec.
