For comedian-actor Pete Davidson, this Judd Apatow-directed film is semi-autobiographical. His character, Scott Carlin, lost his firefighting father in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, just as did Davidson. The role is a perfect fit for the hangdog Davidson, who vulnerably embodies the struggles of a high school dropout trying to find his footing in the world.
