"...red bottom shoes..."

On Demand

Premiered in 2017, “Once upon a time in the land of green skies, blue grass, and red bottom shoes …” is a choreographic exploration created by jhon r. stronks on the culture of accountability. Set inside a dismantled theater space, “red bottom shoes…” is a cry for community, as well as a rejection of the patriarchal structures that cripple and maim society. In this pressing time of public health and social justice, stronks’ themes are magnified now more than ever.

Please note, like other fringe festivals around the world this year, our Virtual Fringe features open-access online shows that are not curated by Rochester Fringe. We strive to be an open platform, as performing artists have limited options during this unusual time. Show applications were reviewed to ensure appropriateness and alignment with Fringe's ideals of openness and inclusion.
