"Sound of Sanctuary (SOS)" is a listening session, interview, and live-performance of selected tracks from the upcoming album "SOS: A Sonic Snapshot of Rochester’s first- and second-generation voices." Recorded at Wicked Squid Studio and made possible by the GVCA’s Aid to Localities Grant, "SOS" weaves co-authored original songwriting, interviews, and field recordings into a live album exploring the sound of Rochester as a sanctuary city.

Dust Bowl Faeries: The Cloven Pendulum, A Gothic Murder Mystery

Join Dust Bowl Faeries for a night of musical intrigue as we deconstruct the mysterious death of the band's taxidermy spirit animal, Hazel the ram. Hazel lives on in the afterlife as a re-gendered faerie familiar, but her spirit cannot rest until the truth about her death is revealed and justice is served. Help us solve the mystery while enjoying an evening of dark cabaret music. Audience members are invited to participate as murder suspects and jury members in this macabre musical tableau.

The Ego & The Oracle

Part improvisational theater, part cabaret, part audience participation, "The Ego & The Oracle" is a live stage spectacular where shuffle play meets the I-Ching. Audience members are invited on stage to ask personal questions of the Oracle. They then spin a giant wheel containing songs by Jim's Big Ego. When the wheel stops, the band performs the chosen song, which is then interpreted as the answer to the question by author Shawn Peters.
