El merengue lleva sal / Merengue Needs Salt
El merengue lleva sal / Merengue Needs Salt, an original play by Candide Carrasco, is a hysterical romp through homophobia and conservatism. A Cuban couple plans a party for their adopted gay son, a beautiful young dancer. Tatiana, the cleaning lady from Russia, questions the harmony of the house. Racism, homophobia and anti-Semitism endanger the loving environment created by Cecilia and Julian. In English and Spanish for mature audiences, it features Elena Goldfeder, Ruben Gomez, Jill Rittinger, and Grant Richards.

Please note, like other fringe festivals around the world this year, our Virtual Fringe features open-access online shows that are not curated by Rochester Fringe. We strive to be an open platform, as performing artists have limited options during this unusual time. Show applications were reviewed to ensure appropriateness and alignment with Fringe's ideals of openness and inclusion.
