MuCCC
The MuCCC Theater is a multi-use community cultural center (hence the acronym MuCCC) in Rochester, New York. Founded in 2009 by arts entrepreneur Doug Rice, its mission is to provide a theater to performers who do not have a permanent space, to attract new audiences to theater, and to provide theater at a low cost to the public.

Accessible Approach/Entrance
- Venue is at ground level
- Route of travel is slip resistant and at least 36” wide

Parking and Drop-Off Areas
- Two designated accessible parking spaces available on Atlantic Avenue in front of the MuCCC building
- No access aisles for van accessible spaces marked with hash marks
- Outdoor parking lot so no need for vertical clearance for vans
- Accessible space is closest to accessible entrance on proper route
- Drop off location in front of MuCCC (out of traffic on street parking same side) for paratransit user with accessible path to the ramp
- Accessible spaces marked with International Symbol of Accessibility
Entrance
- Main entrance accessible via ramp with 1:12 slope (shown in photo)
- Ramp at least 36” wide with the railing on the outer edge
- Accessible entrance can be opened with 5 pounds or less pressure
- Door handle no higher than 48” and operable with a closed fist
- Entrance has at least 32” of clear opening with at least 18” of clear wall space on the pull side of the door next to the handle
- Threshold edge is accessible (1/4” high or less)

Rooms and Spaces
- Aisles and pathways to materials and services at least 36” wide
- 5’ space for turning a wheelchair completely
- Obstacles are cane-detectable in circulation paths through public areas
Seats, Tables, and Counters
- Two wheelchair seating spaces are available in the theatre. More spaces can be arranged as needed.

- Seats do not have moveable/removable arm rests
- Accessible counters for tickets and concessions with a 36” wide section and area of free space in front of more than 30” x 48”
- Water fountain spout not higher than 36” and can be operated independently with a closed fist

- Accessible restrooms (no pictograms used to identify them)
- Doorway to restroom is at least 32” clear
- Door handles not operable with a closed fist or less than 48” high
- Restrooms designed for single occupant so no stalls
- Grab bars behind and on the side wall of toilet
- 36” wide path to all fixtures
- Toilet seat not less than 19” high
- Faucet operable with closed fist
- Soap and paper towel dispensers not higher than 44”
