Accessible Approach/Entrance

  • Venue is at ground level
  • Route of travel is slip resistant and at least 36” wide
  • Objects can be detected by person with visual disability using a cane
  • No curbs so not necessary to have curb cuts at parking and drop-offs

Parking and Drop-Off Areas

  • Neighborhood parking only: only handicap permit parking allowed
  • Eight (8) accessible parking spaces available with 8’ wide access aisle
  • Outdoor parking lot so no need for vertical clearance for vans
  • Accessible space is closest to accessible entrance on proper route
  • Drop off location in lot (out of traffic) for paratransit user with accessible path to the lawn
  • Accessible space designated by FOMH


  • If seeking entrance into show:
    • Use North Entrance
    • Gate is accessible for car or van
    • Assistant will direct cars to designated drop off and parking

Rooms and Spaces

  • Aisles and pathways - not applicable to lawn area
  • Obstacles are cane-detectable in circulation paths through public areas

Seats, Tables, and Counters

  • Seats not provided on the lawn - open seating on the grounds
  • Event is free - no ticketing or concessions
  • Designated areas provide for anyone with mobility needs


  • Rochester Fringe Festival events on lawn so no need for elevator


  • Public restrooms are now open in basement of gatehouse and reachable from first floor via a narrow staircase
  • Restrooms not handicapped accessible

Pets, Concessions, and Lawn Seating

  • No pets allowed during performance
  • No food allowed at performance
  • Blankets and lawn chairs allowed
  • Immersive audience experience - dances occur throughout the site: audience welcome to adjust perspective
