A sincere “thank you” to everyone who made this year’s First Niagara Rochester Fringe Festival such a success – we couldn’t have done it without you! Together, we offered 360 creative shows by local, regional, national and international artists that included children’s, comedy, cross-genre, dance, music, performance art, spoken word, theatre and visual arts & film in 28 venues over 10 days.
About 120 shows were free, including the return of vertical dance troupe BANDALOOP, which drew approximately 13,000 to Manhattan Square Park this year. Between all the Fringe offerings – including the enchanting Magic Crystal Spiegeltent with its world-premiere Cirque du Fringe show and headliners Marc Maron and Dave Barry – this year’s Fringe drew more than 50,000 people to downtown Rochester to celebrate the arts!
We can’t wait (okay, maybe we need a few days to recover) until next September, and we hope you feel the same! In the meantime be sure to check out Facebook and Twitter.
